I purchased this along with the corner 60x47 Desk in the espresso finish. It is of course a lot darker than the picture above. It's a dark chocolate not so much a cherry finish. The shipping was fast and the price was far cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else I looked. It comes w/ one 24" shelf but can hold up to 3. I would probably buy the 24" deep shelf to add on incase you have a bigger printer you want to put on it w/o it hanging over too much. The only bad thing about this was that the box looked like it was dragged thru hell!! It is a heavy box but does say team lift on it, but that couldn't have been the case with mine! The top (table) piece had a few knicks and scratches, but not major enough to go through the trouble of sending it back. Set up was a breeze and you can use it either on the left or right side of the desk. It is a nice addition to add on for more work space.

I received the desk timely and well packed, the shipper was helpful in moving it up my driveway since it was a bit heavy. It had instructions that seemed to make sense and assembly was expected to be quick and easy. Unfortunately one of the pieces was damaged likely at the factory (no damage on the box), it was fairly minor and I let it go (a crushed edge not visible on assembly). The bad came upon assembly as it quickly became apparent that we had 2 wrong parts meant for another desk... one perhaps the same size but a mirror image perhaps and the other a shelf too small. I could return it but this thing is heavy and truck shipped, also I really needed it now so instead I decided to cut and drill one section to "make it work". It looks pretty good and is quite stable with the heavy metal brackets I had to use, but I'm still missing one shelf. ..

Serendipity means accidentally discovering something fortunate, and I was fortunate indeed to have discovered the Legare desk. I could not afford the custom desks that admittedly would have been beautiful. I was not enamored of cheap particle board. Also, I was on the verge of getting something from Ikea. Then! ... I discovered the Legare furniture system. I was even more pleased to learn that it was available on Amazon. As Legare advertizes, the desk is a cinch to erect and take apart. I got the 60 x 47 corner desk with the 31" peninsula. The set-up can be adapted in different ways to different room dimensions, and I now have the option of moving it to another room in my house as events dictate. The build quality is excellent and the aesthetics of the bamboo are beautiful. The shelves are easily rearranged, and for all this, I certainly do not mind the absence of drawers. The manufacturer's website has a convenient, online room planner. Therefore, from planning to purchasing through Amazon and the excellent shipping arrangements, I consider this purchase experience to be a win-win for all involved.

I purchased this desk for the whole family to use. I had a small space and this desk was perfect. The desk top workspace area is large enough to accomodate a flatscreen monitor (possible 19" max), keyboard & mouse plus some workspace. I would not suggest a regular monitor. A laptop is perfect for a student workplace & studying too. The shelves are not deep enough for a large size printer. It is very sturdy when asembled and equipment/items are placed on it. Unfortunately it took me more than 3 minutes to assemble but that's okay I ended up with the perfect desk for my family and student.

I had looked extensively both on the internet and in stores for a unique student desk. Other merchants had this desk also but when I checked Amazon, the desk was 199 instead of 389, and I got free shipping, which saved a bundle! It came in mint condition and in very good time.
The desk itself is awesome. It is easy to put together, has a modern touch to it, has rounded edges (great for kids) and is the perfect size for a child's bedroom. We love it.
The little file cabinet that comes with it was a little tricky to get together, and the wheels don't enable easy moving on a low-shag carpet, but that is a small thing. This item, and the shipping is 5 stars in my book.

Attractive file boxes, solidly contructed. However, the wheels are useless. They do not remain in place, and fall off whenever I move it around. Therefore, I removed them. The file box works fine without them. Also, the U-shaped runners that the files hook into are a bit on the flimsy side and bend slightly under weight.

I was very impressed with the innovative concept behind the Legare line of desks - tool-free assembly, yet strong and sturdy? My curiosity was perked, and I have been wanting a new desk for years. I wanted one for my bedroom, though, so it had to be roomy without taking up a huge amount of space. The Legare 48" Straight desk was available at a good price when I bought it ($184 with shipping, much cheaper than a lot of their other products), so I thought it would be a good deal.

I received this desk from Amazon about a week ago. The shipping was fast and the box was packed nicely. It is heavy - about 90 lbs. - so you know that the construction is solid!

What first struck me about the desk was the weight of each of the panels. Each piece was much heavier than I was expecting, and felt very high quality.

The actual assembly was easy as advertised, though a bit of a balancing act. The basic premise of the desk is that it works through gravity - the first few pieces fall into each other, and the last piece slides and falls into place. It's an elegant concept that works very well. I was concerned that the desk seemed to wobble slightly, at first, but due to the way it's designed it feels like a whole piece and feels strong and sturdy.

I tested how strong it was a few times by sitting and lying on it and moving around, and seeing how it felt. It felt very strong. I am about 120 lbs., so you get an idea of how it is.

I love how roomy the desk area is. :) It's roomy without taking up a huge amount of space in my bedroom. I also really like the shelves underneath - great for having frequently used computer peripherals on hand without looking cluttered. :)

All in all, a fun, practical desk at a great price. :)
